Together with Peter Wasserscheid from the chair of chemical reaction engineering at the university of Erlangen/Nuremberg Andreas Jess published the textbook "Chemical technology - An Integrated Textbook" in february 2013.

History

The Department of Chemical Engineering at the university of Bayreuth exists since October 2001. Since then, over 20 students were graduated and more than a hundred research contracts processed.


The Department of Chemical Engineering is part of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAN) and acts as a link between the classical engineering sciences and the (technical) Chemistry. In October 2001, Prof. Dr. Andreas Jess, by then Professor of Chemistry at the Institute for Technical Chemistry and Macromolecular Chemistry (ITMC), RWTH Aachen University, was appointed first chair holder.
